Vision & Mission Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church (WABC) is an intentionally intergenerational house of prayer for people of all stages in life. The Prayer Ministry’s vision is to build a congregation of believers who actively engage in all types of prayer, demonstrating God’s anointing in healing, deliverance, and direction—resulting in deeper intimacy in worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The mission is to witness and demonstrate the compassion and Lordship of Jesus Christ as manifested through fervent, effectual prayer. Motto Compassion-Driven Prayer Core & Foundation Jesus is our model for biblical prayer. Our foundation aligns with the beliefs of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. Standing Committees Administrative Committee Prayer Activation Committee (PAC) Education Committee Publication Committee There are 7 Levels of Engagement for anyone to choose how to grow and serve in prayer. There is something for everyone. Engagement 1 Virtual Wall Monitoring – At your own pace to pray over submitted requests. Engagement 2 GroupMe – participation for on-call or urgent time sensitive prayer needs. CONFIDENTIALITY IS CRITICAL, most requests are PRIVATE. Engagement 3 Prayer Rotation – 1 day per week commitment to pray over the Prayer List. Must join Flocknote and submit your preferred day of the week. Rotation selections may be changed quarterly. Engagement 4 Wednesday Warrior – Pray IN PERSON or in the Virtual platform. Consultation and training are REQUIRED prior to serving. Engagement 5 Sunday New Member Support – Joining a team which offers prayer to those who request special prayer on Sundays during INTAKE. This is in partnership with Congregational Care Ministry under the leadership of Rev. J. Pyles. Engagement 6 Participation in Sub-Committees –· Activation (PAC)· Administration (Admin)· Education· Publication Engagement 7 Prayer on the Wall (POW) – Intercessors who serve as assigned on Sunday to pray 1 on 1 with those who come forth.Consultation and training is REQUIRED prior to serving.
